3D multi-layered specific treatments are designed to work at different depths, in different planes of the skin.
The field of Aesthetics is increasingly recognising the need for a multifaceted approach, incorporating the muscles – to achieve lift or reduce movement lines, as well as correcting volume loss to improve facial contours. I choosed for you the best treatments in order to improve the skin from inside to outside in 3 different layers, creating a total skin regeneration. Results of the treatment can last 2-3 years.
Let’s focus in each one layer.
When looking at skin treatments, what we need to address first is : where does the problem lie. Is the problem lying in the epidermis? Is the problem in the dermis or is the problem down below?
How We Tackle Acne, Clogged Pores & Blackheads
When we talk about texture, colour & volume, each treatment falls into a certain layer. Often if people are coming in concerned with the texture of their skin, the problem is usually within the top layer. Quite frequently there’s a build up of dead cells that need to be removed, which as a result would make it smoother. Sometimes muscle contractions such as repetitive movement like squinting or frowning doesn’t necessarily affect the depth because it’s actually the muscle that’s causing it, but it can create permanent divots in that top layer.
Addressing Fine Lines, Wrinkles & Larger Pores
So regarding skin that has fine lines, wrinkles, maybe larger pores- the problem is coming from a little bit deeper down in the epidermis. So we still may do an exfoliating procedure but we’re going to be a little more aggressive and go a little bit deeper. Now we’re talking about procedures like microneedling, mesotherapies, prx-33 peeling, that works on both two skin layers. That process stimulates the body to shed the outer layer but produce new collagen, so we’re actually affecting a little bit deeper now.
Correcting Facial Volume Loss
What brings so many clients into the clinic is concerns about volume loss ( or as they call it…drooping!) Volume loss in the skin can start as early as your 20’s. Let’s think of your skin like a mattress where the epidermis is your sheets, the dermis is memory foam and then your subcutaneous layer; where the fat is, is the actual mattress. What happens first is the epidermis gets thicker and the dermis gets thinner. As we lose volume in this area, it affects the texture of the epidermis. The subcutaneous layer loses fat as we age and the fat pads drop along with muscle loss. To top things off our bone starts to shrink, so as we get older we’ve got multiple things happening in the skin. There are many products, either based on hyaluronic like Profhilo, radiesse, or poly-lactic acid like Sculptra or hyaluronic fillers that can correct volume loss in the dermal layer.
Speaking about skin treatments for volume, one of the only treatments that is available out there to actually stimulate these deeper layers is Hifu Ultherapy. Ultherapy is an ultrasound device that goes through the skin, heating it up to a point where it causes a thermal injury, stimulating new collagen. So with the ultrasound device in Ultherapy the technicians can actually see the layers of the skin and the target layer where the collagen fibres are lying. That tissue will get heated up to between 60-70 degrees Celsius and over the course of the next 3-6 months we’re going to see a slight volumizing. When we do it in combination with either HA fillers or Profhilo just so that we can speed the process up but Ultherapy is a great treatment for getting down really deep, but safely.
Our combi treatment will focuse on both all layers of the skin.
- PRX-T33 Peeling + Hydro-vital skinboosting – week 1
PRX-T33, a combination of TCA and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) quickly penetrates the dermis (one of the skin’s layers), activating a process of regeneration without attacking the epidermis (the outer layer of skin contains 33% TCA and 67% hydrogen peroxide. The peel is incredibly effective. The combination of TCA and hydrogen peroxide stimulates the dermis non-invasively, while minimising the aggressive exfoliation of the dermis. PRX-T33 promotes stimulation of fibroblasts and growth factors without causing inflammation or damaging the skin. The treatment can be performed at any time of year, unlike peeling, because it is not photosensitising, and it is suitable for all skin types.
Mesotherapy treatments are recommended as a combined treatment with a Chemical peel to remove the surface layers of the epidermis, this allows for a much deeper transdermal delivery from the mesotherapy treatment. Mesotherapy works by creating tiny punctures into the epidermis of the skin to allow for the transdermal delivery of vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Mesotherapy is a well known facial rejuvenation treatment which is used for skin rejuvenation and hydration from the inside out giving a bright, firm rejuvenated complexion. Mesotherapy is a highly effective rejuvenating treatment, replacing hyaluronic acid which provides deep hydration, toning benefits and cell regeneration.
2 .Hifu ultherapy + Profhilo – week 2
HIFU (high intensity focused ultra sound) based treatments target the SMAS layer, a protective fibrous coating of the muscle and blood vessels, below the skin. By tightening the SMAS, HIFU has a skin lifting effect – rather like pulling the ground sheet taught, providing a basis for treatment of the more superficial layers. HIFU a great way to prepare the skin around the neck and jawline before using collagen stimulating treatments based treatment of skin laxity (Profhilo).
H-HA in Profhilo provides a stable HA architecture in the dermis. This gives a volumetric effect – the Lift effect.
There are 5 profhilo injection points for your area of concern, they stimulate 4 different types of collagen and elastin due to the slow release of hyaluronic acid. It is this stimulation that results in significant improvement of tissue quality; take a look at the profhilo before and after image below to see.
It delivers great results as a treatment on its own or in combination with other aesthetics treatments currently on offer. Profhilo is the first BDDE-free stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based product for treating skin laxity. With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64mg / 2ml) it is not only boosting and hydrating the skin, but also remodels the ageing and sagging tissue.
